Swinging
Shawn took this picture on Mother's day at the park behind his parent's house, and I wanted to share it. I though it looked cool how he managed to catch each kid at a different height. (Left to right Cooper Anderson, Alex and Carter Anderson).

Try Again Mommy...

Last night Alex was coming in the house from outside he fell on the stairs and scraped up his leg pretty bad he cried and I gave him "loves" and he went inside and I pretty much forgot about it. A while later I was sitting on the floor with Zach and Alex was sitting on the couch behind me, this is the conversation that happened next...
"Mommy my leg is scratched"
"I know honey I am sorry, do you want me to kiss it better"
"Yeah..."
(kiss)
"All better?"
"No it's not better yet"
(kiss)
"No try again Mommy..."
This happened several more times and I don't know if it ever was "better" or if he just gave up. I laughed to myself at the "try again Mommy" and then went back to what I was doing. I was laying in bed when I was overwhelmed to think my little boy had so much faith in me that a simple kiss from me would make everything better. I realized that Alex and I learned a hard lesson. Mommy's kisses won't make everything better.

Is Daddy home yet?
This question in an of it's self is one that I hear frequently some days more then others, however today something a little bit different happened. I had gone into Alex's room to get some laundry and he was in playing and watching Higglytown Hero's. He looked at me and said "is Daddy home yet?" "No honey, Daddy won't be home for a while" was my response and I thought to myself "boy it's going to be a long day if he is already asking when Shawn will be home at 8:45 in the morning" So expecting the usual sad/frustrated "Ohhh...." that usually follows my answer I heard this instead. "It's getting late" and the concern in his voice was noticeable. It melted my heart. Now I don't know where he got this idea of "getting late" from because it's not a term I use in reference to Shawn coming home from work. The only time we ever use it is when we are telling Alex he needs to go to bed. The only thing I could figure was that it's currently quite dark outside do to the rain but who knows...

Mother's Day
One of the things I wanted to do for Mother's Day was to try and do a new family picture, so I told Shawn that when we got home from church that is what I wanted to do. So when we got home we hurried outside to take some pictures we took quite a few but the very first one was the best of the bunch (and as you can see it's not perfect either!). I am a bit ashamed to admit but this is the first picture of all of us since Zach was born, at least we have one of all of us up now!
On a side note I had to include this picture of Alex it kind of goes along with the Mario Kart post...

To much Mario Kart
Alex's favorite thing to do is watch Shawn or I play Mario Kart. He starts asking from almost the minute he gets up, I always have to remind him that we don't play video games in the morning and he has to wait until Mommy gets her work done or until Daddy gets home. We recently bought Mario Kart for the Wii and Alex loves it just as much as the previous one. Today he has the instruction book (which is his second favorite thing to do) and was looking through it, pretty soon he came over to me and proceeded to tell me what all of the items were and give me a demonstration of what each item did. I just had to laugh it was really cute I wished I had our video camera out. It is however a little scary how well he knows what they are...
