Preschool Art Update

I scanned some more of Alex's art so here you go!

If you look at the train you see that he actually wrote his name. He is getting better about writing it and his teacher told me he is getting better at cutting things out all on his own too. We have him signed up for next year so he will be good and ready for kindergarten.

Remember

Several weeks ago I was visiting with my family so Alex missed a day of preschool. It happened to correspond with the week of Martin Luther King day so one of his days was already canceled. This happened to be the week they were learning the letter "P". I didn't think he would pay any attention to the fact that he would be missing this. It didn't come up until the following Monday when I was getting him ready for School and he asked me what letter he was learning that day. When I told him "Q" he got all flustered and mad and kept asking me "what about P?, when am I going to learn P?" Well... flash forward a month and we are still going through the same routine... "What letter am I learning today Mommy?" "Ahhhh, what about P????" I don't know how to fix it I don't know if I print out some pages that has a coloring activity and some letters for him to trace if that will make up for him missing P or not, or if I am destined to go through this every week until summer. Maybe he will forget by then...

Accomplished

This morning has been a good morning! I made it 38 minutes on the treadmill! I might actually be able to do the 5K by June.
I have lost 10 lbs since having Zach! (I realize it's been a year but I never lost the baby weight after Alex so that's major)
I made a batch of waffles this morning without burning/destroying a single one! (the last one was touch and go for a bit because I forgot to re-spray the waffle iron.)
I didn't eat a waffle smothered in peanut butter and syrup, I left the waffle eating to the kids and had a bowl of oatmeal.
Alex was running around this morning and then disappeared for a while then came back out and said "Mommy, this is my home on earth!" I was stunned for a minute because it was so out of no where then I said "yes it is!" Yea! He is picking things up in primary! I am grateful for the primary program because it picks up where I fall short!
I am starting to see glimpses of the boys getting a long and playing and it makes me so happy! There maybe hope for them yet. Now I don't expect them to always get along but to have them just play together with out screaming at each other for those few moments is just so nice.

The kid is nuts...

We have heard it before but I honestly think that Zachary is going to kill himself! The kid has no fear and feels no pain. This morning by 8:45 he had fell off of the couch directly on his head, fell off of the lay-z-boy and hit the end table on his way down and fell off one of the kitchen chairs, after all this he then climbed up onto the kitchen table and crawled across it to get Alex's food (which in turn made Alex dump his milk all over of course). So he got sent to his room for that. After I let him out he ran right into Alex's room and proceeded to try and pull the Super Nintendo from the wall and the TV then came out and climbed right back up on the kitchen chair... For which I promptly got mad at him and that is when he cried the hardest. I was like "are you kidding me???" The child makes me a nervous wreck! We have an entire house full of toys but no... he has to be climbing on something or into something to be happy. Alex went through a phase where he liked to climb up on the couch but after falling off several times and getting in trouble several times he eventually figured it out or got through that phase. I mean sure I have to remind him that we don't run on the couch and we don't stand on the arms but that is to be expected. I am so ready for the snow to melt and to be able to get the kids outside! Of course then there is a whole new world for Zach to get in trouble in and the kid hates to wear shoes so he will have to get over that really quick.

As much as Zach makes me crazy some times the kid loves to help.
This was a week or so ago unfortunately I missed the part where he had both the broom and the dust pan. (I do have to add a disclaimer... I don't normally let him run around in just a diaper but he was such a mess after eating that it was easier to just take his clothes off.) The other day I was making the bed and he was helping me by handing me the pillows and the blankets and after he would hand it too me before I could say "thank you" he would say "tanks!"

February

I'm not feeling 100% this morning but I keep forgetting to post this so I wanted to hurry and do it while I was thinking about it. These are the first two calendar pages/desktops I have made I am doing it as it comes because I didn't have time to get it done before the new year.
